On May 15, 1841, the Police Office of the Royal Military Command of the city and province of Alba granted Luigi Costamagna, son of Francesco Antonio, permission "for retail wine trade [...] for the wine produced from the grapes of its vineyards" in La Morra.
In 1911, Francesco and his son Riccardo won the Gold Medal at the Grand Prix of the International Exhibition of Turin, for presenting fifty years of uninterrupted production.

At Francesco's death, his son Riccardo, a lawyer in Turin and Alba, continued to manage the company with the help of his wife Maddalena. In the thirties, after Riccardo's death, Maddalena sold the properties outside of La Morra, but not the vineyards located in the Rocche dell'Annunziata. It was limited to vinification for the needs of the family, and most of the grapes were sold.

At the end of the sixties it was her niece Claudia Ferraresi, together with her husband Giorgio Locatelli, who took over the reins of the family business, combining the profession of painter with that of wine entrepreneur.
The winemaking activity is increased with the planting of new vineyards and slowly the restoration of the historic premises of the cellars begins.

Since the mid-eighties it is the young Alessandro Locatelli to take care of every aspect of management. Significantly improves vineyard management and winemaking, takes care of sales by expanding the commercial network to the four continents
