Rocca Bernarda is one of the oldest winemakers in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, producing wine since 1559. Charming stately home surrounded by a park full of centuries-old trees, it was built in 1567 by the Counts Valvason Maniago, revolves around a splendid Italian garden overlooking the Friulian plain. It was Count Giacomo Perusini, an extraordinary lover of Friulian oenology to restore prestige to this company after a period of silence. The "ponca", a typical Friulian soil composed of sands and marl-sandstones that makes up the hills of Rocca Bernarda transmits elegance and minerality to the wines. Rocca Bernarda has always been considered an absolute reference point for the production of Picolit, a true oenological pearl that stands out in the treasure chest of precious stones of that vineyard called Friuli. (Total property: 220 hectares total, 38 vineyards).

The grapes are harvested in boxes and immediately crushed. After a short skin maceration, we move on to the pressing, very soft, from which the must-flower is obtained. The fermentation at controlled temperature in steel tanks ends after about 15 days. The subsequent permanence of the new wine on the lees for at least 5 months completes its maturation.
